Fall/Winter League Roundup: Ramos and Castillo combine for 16 hits

Dominican Professional Baseball League
The Round Robin playoffs finished yesterday, with Licey advancing to the championship series. Este and Escogido finished tied with 9-9 records, and they will play a one-game playoff today, with the winner moving on to play Licey. Aneury Tavarez (pictured) and the Estrellas have been eliminated, with Tavarez going 3 for 10 with a triple and a walk last week. Roman Mendez appeared in three game for Este, allowing one run in 2 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out one.
Venezuelan Professional Baseball League
Sandy Leon and Aragua are moving on to the finals after beating La Guaira 8-4 in the fifth game of the best-of-five series yesterday. Leon had a good week, going 4 for 14 with four walks and three strikeouts.
Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (Puerto Rico)
The Red Sox contingent in Puerto Rico saw a lot of playing time this week for Caguas, with the team currently tied with Santurce for second place in the Round Robin tournament. Henry Ramos had a hit in every game, going 8 for 21 with a double and four walks. Rusney Castillo went 8 for 20 with a double, walk, and three strikeouts, and Bryce Brentz went 3 for 14 with a double, three walks, and three strikeouts.
