Fall/Winter League Roundup: Playoffs begin, Marban pitches well in Australia

Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (Puerto Rico)
As the playoffs began, the last two Red Sox prospects in action squared off against each other all week as Caguas faced Mayaguez. 

Jemile Weeks appeared in four games, going 4 for 17 with a double, triple, RBI and two walks. Mayaguez currently sits at 4-2 in the round robin playoffs. 

Henry Ramos only made his way into three contests, going 2 for 11 with a pair of singles. Ramos' Caguas squad has struggled to a 1-5 record in the playoffs. 

Australian Baseball League 
Mike McCarthy received the start on Saturday, taking the loss against Adelaide. McCarthy hurled five innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out five.

McCarthy's Perth Heat teammate, Jorge Marban (pictured, above) also saw action in Saturday's contest, tossing an inning of relief, allowing a run on two hits, striking out a pair. Marban had a stellar outing on Sunday, picking up his fifth save of the season after tossing two scoreless innings of relief, punching out four. 

Colombian Professional Baseball League
Sergio Gomez tossed 3 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five this week. Gomez's Carteagena squad qualified for playoff action as the regular season wrapped up on  Wednesday. 

Panama Professional Baseball League
Pablo Urena made his lone appearance of the week on Saturday, going 0 for 1.
