Jackie Bradley, Jr. shipping up to Portland

Salem outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. is being promoted to Double-A and will join the Portland Sea Dogs after playing in the Carolina League All-Star Game on June 19, according to Mark Berman of the Roanoke Times.

The 22-year-old departs leading the Carolina League in several hitting categories, including batting with a .359 average (84 for 234), on-base percentage at .480, doubles with 26, and walks with 52. Bradley rounded out his offensive performance with three home runs and two triples, scoring 53 runs (a tie for the league lead), driving in 34 runs, and stealing 16 bases in 67 games played. Picked in the supplemental first round of last year's draft out of the University of South Carolina, Bradley is considered an extremely talented fielder in center. He was named SoxProspects.com Player of the Month for his performance in May and is currently the the site's fourth-ranked prospect.
