Red Sox receive right-hander Aaron Kurcz as PTBNL in Epstein compensation deal

According to Baseball America's Jerry Crasnick on Twitter, the Red Sox will receive right-handed pitcher Aaron Kurcz as the player to be named later in the Theo Epstein deal with the Chicago Cubs. The player going from the Red Sox to the Cubs has still yet to be announced.

Kurcz, 21, was the Cubs 11th round selection in the 2010 amateur draft. He spent the majority of the 2010 season as a member of the Short-Season A Boise Hawks, compiling a 2.05 ERA in 25 games (19 starts) striking out 46 batters in just 26.1 innings pitched. In 2011, Kurcz was a member of the High A Daytona Cubs, recording a 3.28 ERA in 32 games (12 starts) striking out 91 in 82.1 innings pitched. At the time of the deal, Kurcz was not regarded as one of the Cubs top prospects.
