Four named to South Atlantic League All-Star Game


The Greenville Drive announced Sunday that four players have been chosen to play in the 2010 South Atlantic League All-Star Game. Catcher Dan Butler, outfielder Ronald Bermudez, and pitcher Dennis Neuman will take part in the action on June 22nd at Fluor Field, while reliever Cesar Cabral was selected but will not play due to his recent promotion to Salem.

Butler posted a line of .315/.401/.523 with 5 home runs and 20 RBI, and Bermudez has 4 homers and 26 RBI en route to a .288/.322/.444 line this season. Neuman leads the Drive with 6 saves, and has fanned 36 in 33.2 innings pitched en route to a 2.67 ERA. Before his promotion Saturday, Cabral had a miniscule 0.29 ERA in 31.1 innings, striking out over a batter per inning and with a 0.73 WHIP. Greenville manager Billy McMillon will be in charge of the Southern Division squad and will be joined by trainer David Herrera.
