Alex Wilson promoted to Portland
Right-handed pitcher Alex Wilson has been promoted to Double-A Portland after spending the first half of the season in Salem. There has been no word on the counter-move yet.The 2009 second-round draft pick finished his time in High-A with a record of 2-1 to go along with an ERA of 3.40. Over 55.2 innings in Salem he was able to strikeout 50 batters, while putting up an impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.33. He spent all of last season with Short-Season-A Lowell, posting a stellar ERA of 0.50. However, he was held to shorter outings averaging just under three innings over his 13 starts with the team.
