Fort Report: Breaking camp

Not a whole lot to report from minor league spring training that hasn’t already been covered elsewhere on the blog in the last few days, whether through the previous Fort Reports, player movement posts, system notes, and Chris Hatfield’s organizational outlooks. But seeing as I set the goal of doing one last Fort Report today, here are some links from the past few days:

PawSox broadcaster Dan Hoard brings us a report on Randor Bierd, who has really impressed with his “invisi-ball” changeup this spring … Top prospect Casey Kelly talked with ESPN (video) following his start on Tuesday … For those of you who are averse to video, Scott Lauber of the Boston Herald also has some quotes from Kelly regarding his recent start …Maureen Mullen of PawSox.com highlighted Josh Reddick in a recent spring training report … Hoard also talked to Reddick earlier this week, who acknowledged that he’ll have to shave his beard when he’s eventually optioned to Triple-A … Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal wrote a quick post on Anthony Rizzo following Tuesday’s game … Two more links from Hoard: he talked with Aaron Bates earlier this week about how his spring is going and with Brett Harper yesterday about his chances of making the Pawtucket roster.

I hope you have enjoyed the Fort Reports this spring, I know I enjoyed writing them. Please make sure to bookmark SoxProspects News and visit us daily for the rest of the season! In the coming days, we’ll have regular updates on the final minor league rosters. In the meantime, keep an eye on our 2010 projected rosters. Also, look out for a pre-season podcast this weekend and a Q&A with Daniel Nava next week.
