February 11 Fort Report

With pitchers and catchers not required to report until tomorrow, there’s not a whole lot to report on the happenings from the Red Sox minor league complex ... The most interesting note comes from Alex Speier of WEEI.com, who reports that the realistic projection for the full return of Nick Hagadone to the mound (in an actual Sox affiliate game) is mid-May, according to Sox Farm Director Mike Hazen … In the meantime, Hagadone will pitch bullpen sessions and should see time on the mound in spring training scrimmages … Speier also reports that Michael Bowden packed on about four pounds of muscle at the Athletes’ Performance facility this off-season, and lowered his body fat from about 12 to 10 percent … Luis Exposito also spent time at AP this off-season … According to WEEI's Rob Bradford, HOK Sport – the architecture firm responsible for Gillette Stadium, Camden Yards, and new Yankees Stadium, has been retained to design the new Sox spring training complex … Dusty Brown arrived to camp early, and has been catching Josh Beckett a lot this week … The major leaguers already in camp include Beckett, Jon Lester, Javier Lopez, Brad Penny, Tim Wakefield, Manny Delcarmen, John Smoltz, Taksashi Saito, Hideki Okajima, Kevin Youkilis, and Rocco Baldelli.
