Pitcher of the Week, 8/11-17: Jeremy Khert
GCL Red Sox RHP Jeremy Khert worked 13 scoreless innings against the GCL Orioles (Aug. 12 and Aug. 17), allowing four hits and issuing one walk while striking out 15 and earning a win (Aug. 17) SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Week Honors for August 11-17. Khert worked six innings at Ft. Myers against the O's, allowing three hits and striking out eight for a no-decision, and seven innings in Sarasota allowing a single hit and striking out seven and walking his sole batter of the week. He owns a 2-2 record with a 2.70 ERA in 10 games (eight starts) with the GCL Red Sox, allowing 14 earned runs on 42 hits over 46.2 innings, striking out 41 while walking six and holding opposing batters to a .241 BAA. Khert, 21, was the Sox 47th round pick in this year's draft.
