Maxwell throws 7 shutout innings to lead Lancaster to win
8/21 Cup of Coffee: On Wednesday, Pawtucket downed Syracuse 8-5. David Pauley (14-4) went 6.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. He had 2 Ks. Kyle Snyder threw 2.1 frames giving up 1 run on 3 hits and a BB. He had 2 Ks. Hunter Jones struck out the lone hitter he faced to end the game. Joe Thurston went 2 for 3 and scored 2 runs. Dusty Brown went 3 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI. Sandy Madera went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a RBI.
Portland edged Altoona 4-3. Dave Gassner (7-5) threw 6 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits and a BB. He had 2 Ks. Chad Rhoades went 1.1 frames allowing 2 runs on 1 hit. He had 2 Ks.
