Corsaletti's walk-off caps Pawtucket comeback win
On Friday, Pawtucket roared back from a 7-1 deficit to win 8-7 over Rochester. Edgar Martinez started going 7 innings giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 7. Hunter Jones pitched 1 inning to pick up the win. Gil Velazquez went 1 for 3 with a home run and 3 batted in. Jeff Corsaletti went 2 for 2 with the game winning home run in the 9th. Chris Carter, George Kottaras, and Dusty Brown added solo home runs in the comeback win.
Portland was edged out by Trenton 3-2. Kris Johnson went 6 innings giving up 1 earned run and striking out 4 for the loss. Richie Lentz pitched 2 innings giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits. Lars Anderson went 1 for 3 driving in 2 runs.
Lancaster defeated Rancho Cucamonga 5-3. Travis Beazley pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up 2 earned runs and struck out 5 to pick up the win. Jason Blackey threw the final inning for the save. Mike Jones went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and a 1 run scored. Luis Exposito went 3 for 4 with 1 home run and 2 RBI while Yamaico Navarro went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI in the win.
Greenville dropped a 7-6 game to Rome. Jose Capellan went 7 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 3. Javier Garcia pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 4 earned runs and Felix Ventura pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 1 earned run to blow the save. Ryan Kalish went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI while Oscar Tejeda went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI in the defeat.
Lowell defeated Vermont 7-4. Bryan Price pitched 4 innings while giving up 1 earned run and striking out 5. Yeiper Castillo pitched 4 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits to pick up the win. Seth Garrison pitched the final inning for the save. Deshaun Brooks went 2 for 4 with 1 home run and 3 RBI. Ronald Bermudez went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and a home run while Will Middlebrooks went 2 for 4 in the win.
The GCL Sox won the completion of their suspended game over the GCL Twins 10-4. Wilfred Pichardo went 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored. Derrik Gibson went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI and Roberto Feliz added a solo home run. Michael Lennox picked up the win with 3 shutout innings of relief. The Sox lost the 2nd game 4-1 with Pichardo going 2 for 3 with a double and 1 run scored. Cesar Cabral pitched 5 innings giving up 2 earned runs in the loss.
The DSL Sox were edged out by the DSL Yankees #1 3-2. Rafael Espinoza went 2 for 4 with a triple. Derwin Pinto went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Roman Mendez pitched 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 5 to pick up the loss.
Player of the Night: Jeff Corsaletti who went 2 for 2 off the bench with the walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th capping Pawtucket's comeback win.
