Player of the Week, June 9-15: Daniel Nava


Lancaster OF Daniel Nava reached base in nearly 60 percent of his plate appearances last week, with 13 hits and four walks in 29 plate appearances posting a .520/.586/.680 (1.266 OPS) line, and was voted (position) Player of the Week for June 9-15 by the SoxProspects.com community. Nava doubled four times, scoring six runs while batting in 6. Signed in the off season as a minor league free agent, Nava (age 25) was rated as the top independent league prospect by Baseball America and his not disappointed, going .361/.435/.574 (1.009 OPS) with six home runs, 13 doubles, one triple and 28 RBI in 155 ABs (43 games) with the JetHawks in 2008. Honorable Mention: Greenville C/DH Luis Exposito, .294/.333/.882 (1.215 OPS), three homers and two doubles.
