Bailey travelling with Red Sox
Pawtucket RF/1B/DH Jeff Bailey has joined the Red Sox in Baltimore, however the decision to activate him or not reportedly hinges on the results of RHP Diasuke Matsuzaka's MRI scheduled for this morning. It is expected that he would be activated in the event that Matsuzaka is placed on the disabled list. Matsuzaka left his May 27 start at Seattle after four innings with what has been reported as "shoulder fatigue." Pawtucket has shuffled it's rotation, shifting RHP Justin Masterson's next start to Tuesday, which coincides with Matsuzaka's spot in the Sox rotation, indicating that he is the most likely call-up if need be. Bailey would likely stay with the Sox until until then.
