Playing a majority of the week (five games) in Portland before making his Pawtucket debut, 1B/C Sandy Madera blistered the ball at a .500/.538/.958 (1.496 OPS) pace, with two home runs and five doubles, batting in three runs while scoring five and completely ran away with the SoxProspects.com Player of the Week voting for April 21-27. Madera, 27, was purchased from New Jersey of the independent Can-Am League and posted a .421/.463/.737 line over 38 ABs (3 HR, 3 doubles, 1.200 OPS) in nine games with the Sea Dogs before being called up to Pawtucket and going 3/4 with two doubles on Sunday (4/27).
