Daeges, Bates win MiLB.com Awards
Leading a team distinguished for its offensive prowess, Lancaster OF Zach Daeges (pictured) put up a .330/.423/.579/1.002 line in 515 ABs (170 hits) and led the California League in five categories with 124 runs scored, 113 RBI, 55 doubles (a league record), 82 walks, and 298 total bases, earning himself MiLB.com Class A Advanced Offensive Player of the Year honors for 2007. Daeges, 23, spent the bulk of his time as the team's everyday left fielder, while occasionally filling in at first base and DH. He also hit 21 HR. His JetHawks teammate 1B Aaron Bates also earned MiLB.com's Best Class A Advanced Single-Game Performance recognition for his four HR (a Cal League record, later tied by teammate OF Brad Correll), five hit six-RBI game against Lake Elsinore on May 19.
