Sox take Ryan Dent with 62nd pick
With their second pick in the 2007 draft, the Boston Red Sox selected INF Ryan Dent out of Wilson HS in Long Beach, CA. Dent is regarded as one of Southern California's premier hitting prospects, with a quick line drive stroke and is a speedy, aggressive base runner and profiles as a top of the order hitter. Dent played shortstop in high school, but some question his ability to stay at the position. He may profile better at second base or in center field. He it .463 and stole 25 bases his senior season.
