Sox make Mailman 7th round pick
With their seventh round pick (#234 overall) the Red Sox selected another power hitting left handed high school 1B, David Mailman out of Providence HS, Charlotte (NC). Mailman is regarded as one of the better pure hitters in the draft and demonstrated good plate discipline. He is thin at 6' 2" 180, and will need to fill out to meet his potential. Mailman was an average defender at first base, but is expected to play in the corner outfield at the next level and has the arm to do so. He is a Wake Forrest commit.
