Player of the Week, May 27-June 2: Jed Lowrie
AA Portland acquitted themselves well in the final days of May, when teammates Jed Lowrie and Clay Buchholz both won player of the week and month honors. Lowrie capped off a strong month with a great week, swinging the bat at a .385/.515/.731 (1.246 OPS) clip, with five doubles and two triples against Reading (Phillies) and Connecticut (Giants), and running away with the SoxProspects.com Player of the Week voting. The switch-hitting shortstop is a two-time player of the week winner, having been so honored for the week of May 6-12.
