Pitcher of the Week, May 5-12: Michael Bowden


In his last start before being promoted to AA Portland, Lancaster RHP Michael Bowden turned in one last characteristically dominant performance, throwing seven innings of one hit (1 BB) shutout ball, striking out five for a Mothers Day victory, capping off a week for which he would be voted SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Week for May 5 - 12. In his May 6 start against Visalia (D-Backs), Bowden tossed six scoreless innings, scattering six hits, while striking out four (walking none), for a no-decision. For the week Bowden allowed seven hits in 13 IP (.156 BAA), walking one and striking out nine. Bowden is scheduled to make his first start for the Sea Dogs on Friday. Honorable mention: Clay Buchholz, 1-0, 11.2 IP/10 H (.233 BAA), one walk, 19 strikeouts (8Ks in a row) 2.31 ERA (three ER).
