Ellsbury promoted to Portland
The Red Sox made a number of minor league transactions on Tuesday. Highly regarded prospect Jacoby Ellsbury was promoted to Portland, and recent draft pick and signee Bryce Cox was assigned to Lowell. Additionally, Jay Johnson and Bryan Pritz were assigned to Wilmington, Mickey Hall and Dustin Kelly were assigned to Greenville, and Zack Farkes and Kyle Snyder were assigned to Lowell. Wily Mo Pena is expected to be activated off the DL for Boston today as well. Further transactions may soon be announced to even out the rosters.
