Friday saw everyone of the Sox affiliates lose their games. Buffalo got by Pawtucket 6-2. Kason Gabbard started and took the loss. He gave up 5 runs on 7 hits and 2 BB in 6 2/3 innings. He had 4 Ks. Dustin Pedroia went 2 for 4 and scored a run. Adam Stern went 1 for 4 and scored a run. New Hampshire doubled Portland 8-4. Chris Smith started and gave up 6 runs on 9 hits and 2 BB over 5 innings. He had 7 Ks. Jon Searles went 1 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and a BB. He struck out 3. Edgar Martinez went the final 1 1/3 innings. He did not allow a run on 2 hits and a BB. David Bacani went 2 for 4. Chris Durbin went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Not only did Wilmington lose both games of a doubleheader to Kinston, they were shutout in both as well. They lost the first game 2-0. Matt Goodson went 4 innings giving up 2 runs on 1 hit and 2 BB, He had 3 Ks. Jason Richardson pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits. Jacoby Ellsbury, Jeff Corsaletti, and John Otness were all 1 for 3. They lost the second game 3-0. Andrew Dobies went 5 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and a BB. He had 3 Ks. Jacoby Ellsbury went 2 for 4. Greenville lost 2-1 to Greensboro. Mike Rozier went 6 innings. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits and 5 BB. He had 6 Ks. Hunter Jones took the loss. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings of work. He had 2 Ks. Luis Soto went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Mark Wagner went 2 for 4 with a RBI. Christian Lara went 2 for 3. Finally Vermont edged Lowell 3-2. J.T. Zink went 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and a BB. He had 3 Ks. Yulkin German pitched 2 scoreless innings. He allowed 2 hits and a BB. He struck out 3. Felix Ventura went 1 inning. He gave up 1 run on 1 hit and 2 BB. He had 1 K. Bubba Bell went 2 for 5. Jon Still went 3 for 4 with a RBI.
