5/3 Cup of Coffee
Last night, Pawtucket defeated Ottawa 5-3. Abe Alvarez started and pitched 6 1/3 innings for the win. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits while walking 2 and striking out 1. Jermaine Van Buren threw 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief giving up 1 BB and recording 1 K. Alex Machado went 2 for 2 with a triple, a home run, a BB, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Ron Calloway went 2 for 5. Trent Durrington went 2 for 4 with a run scored. The Portland- Connecticut game was rained out. Potomac defeated Wilmington 7-2. Luis Mendoza went only 1 inning allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. He had 2 Ks. Scott Shoemaker went 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2. Jason Richardson went 2 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with 1 BB and 3 Ks. Jeff Corsaletti went 2 for 5. Charleston got by Greenville 5-2. Kevin Guyette started and took the loss going 4 innings. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits. He had 1 K. Hunter Jones pitched the final 4 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits. He had 3 Ks and 0 BB. Yahmed Yema went 2 for 5 and scored a run. Tony Granadillo went 2 for 4 with a RBI. Mark Wagner also went 2 for 4. Player of The Night: Alex Machado who was on base 3 times with 2 hits including a triple and a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in a pair. He also had a sacrifice fly.
